2010 Bogong Cup

Competition: Saturday 16th to Saturday 23rd January (8 days)
The competition HQ will be in the "Theatre" at the Mt Beauty Visitors Information Centre. Co-ords are S36 44.518 E147 09.931 (hddd.mm.mmm)
Registration and downloads start from 5pm on Friday 15th of January.
The Bogong Cup is known as a high level international cross country hang gliding event. This year we're expanding our focus to encourage the participation of Australian pilots who are not at the top of the national ladder and would like a real chance of winning something. The tasks we're planning to set will challenge you and still cater for the "guns". We intend to spice things up with some new task ideas designed to challenge and take you to new goals not used before.
The GFC is upon us and times are tough. Recognising this, we are planning to run a bare bones, no frills event to maximize value to pilots. This year we have reduced the entry fee from last year whilst still offering prizemoney of at least $1,200. To encourage the development of local pilots, we will be bringing back the B Grade category to the Bogong Cup. Half of the comp prizemoney and trophies will be awarded to the first 3 places in B Grade. B Grade pilots are allowed to fly topless gliders in the comp.
Update 23/12/09
Andrew Medew will be the Launch Director for the Bogong Cup. With Andrew's experience I'm sure he'll do a great job.
There are almost 60 pilots entered in the comp now and only 10 places left. Be quick!
Redbull has graciously decided to sponsor the comp. Sylvan will make sure we have all the energy we need and perhaps a visit from the famous Redbull girls.
